Drills for Ball Control

These independent ball drills from Progressive Soccer will help you improve your skills between training sessions.

Juggling a Soccer Ball

Dylan suggests as a beginner you aim for 500 touches. Once you can do that, you no longer need to bother counting, and can really mix things up with some style. Remember to practice with both feet.

Mix things up with mini touches, thighs, head, juggle while you walk, or run with the ball.

Learn a foot stall

This is a great exercise, especially for your week foot. Trap the ball on top of your foot for a few seconds, and then get back into juggling.

Air Control

Pop the ball high, and bring it down with a single touch.

Find a wall

Kick the ball against a wall. Get control before returning it. Once you master this, try with two touches - first to control, second for the kick to the wall. Then move to first touch, essentially juggling the ball against the wall.
